It’s been nearly a year since work wrapped up on SOLO District, Stratus. The anniversary has us feeling a bit nostalgic and thinking back to another milestone in this project.
Today, we’re looking back at a timelapse from January 26, 2013, when the concrete was poured for Stratus’ foundation.

Then, on December 8, 2013, we started work on the second phase of SOLO District, pouring the concrete foundation for Altus. At the time, it was the largest concrete pour in Burnaby’s history.
Here’s a breakdown of it took to pour the foundation for SOLO District, Altus:
– 4,500 cubic metres of concrete
– Almost 450 concrete trucks
– A pour rate of 100 cubic metres per hour
– Five concrete pumps, operating simultaneously
– Nearly 12 hours of work
