Did you get a chance to come check out the first-ever SOLO District Block Party?
Held on Skyline Drive on Saturday, June 25, the four-hour event offered residents, businesses and neighbours a chance to celebrate our growing community. Prizes were handed out, faces were painted and lots of laughter was heard.
We captured some of the fun in photos.
More than 1,000 people came out to enjoy the games, entertainment and special offers.
Radio station Z95’s mobile crew played music and let their listeners know all about the party.
Pho D’Lite’s tasty samples were incredibly popular!
The face painting tent gave kids some fantastic art.
A street performer kept kids – and adults! – enchanted all afternoon.
Musicians played the classics and got people dancing.
Several SOLO businesses gave away brightly coloured balloons, delighting young attendees.
The Whole Foods team hosted a BBQ and proceeds from the tasty treats went to Burnaby Community Services.
Ricky’s giveaway wheel was another popular attraction.
Cure Communications helped us put on this wonderful party. Here’s what they had to say about how things went.
