Whole Foods has finally arrived at SOLO District, the chain market’s first location in Burnaby. It was early in the morning, but as soon as doors opened, crowds were pouring in for the grand opening.

Luxurious Rooftop Amenities at SOLO District’s Club 55

As the New Year begins, we are excited as the construction of SOLO District’s second tower, Altus, moves closer to completion. At over 550 feet above ground, it is set to become Burnaby’s tallest building. Taking over recent giants like the Sovereign, Metroplace and Silver, the Altus tower will stand out from the pack with its luxurious rooftop facility: Club 55.

Burnaby Goes Green with LED Streetlights

With healthy retail stores like Whole Foods soon to enter the SOLO district, we are about to receive another go-green badge for being good Burnaby citizens. The City of Burnaby will be the first municipality in B.C. to complete a full conversion to LED streetlights. What does this mean for our community? A remarkable 58 per cent annual reduction in energy consumption!

What dictates a well-balanced dish? Appia Development has perfected the formula with appealing looks grounded in practicality with their Stratus kitchens. The open kitchen design serves dual purpose to encourage socializing as the host prepares a meal, and creates the feeling of a larger living area by combining the kitchen and the living/dining area. Thoughtful design elements and practical kitchen amenities create the optimal mix of function and design.

A Living Dreamscape: Bedrooms at Stratus

Dreams are not actualized overnight – most would agree that they often involve endless evenings of little sleep. This is why Appia Development designed the bedrooms at Stratus with utmost care. They understand the importance of a good night’s sleep to ease the demanding agendas of the urban dwellers.

SOLO District Lobby BOCCI Design Handblown Glass Installation

We were extremely excited to unveil the brand new Stratus lobby at our exclusive realtor preview event held last month. Stratus is the first of four buildings to be completed in the SOLO District community. Attendees lined up to preview the lobby and furnished display suites and the feedback has been very encouraging. They noticed the impressive height of the lobby and its use of texture contrasting to create a contemporary space. Realtor Bien Matute noted on social media that “one word to describe it [the lobby] would be AMAZING!”.

Your City in September: Burnaby Events

SOLO 286

The kids are back to school and summer activities are gearing down across Burnaby. But September is definitely the month to enjoy the city’s local culture scene. From charity events to music and theatre performances and Culture Days, there is something to help unleash every SOLO District resident’s inner philanthropist and artist.

When you walk into the lobby of Stratus – the first of four buildings in Burnaby’s SOLO District – you immediately notice its magnificence.

Three-storey ceilings, beautiful wood and marble paneling and luxurious lighting fixtures serve as an introduction to the rest of the building, which is almost finished and equally spectacular.

Burnaby Businesses Tee Off for Charity

Burnaby businesses will tee off in one month at the annual Burnaby Board of Trade (BBOT) Golf Tournament sponsored in part by Appia Development, the developer behind SOLO District.

“We are very excited to once again sponsor this wonderful event,” said Lisa Murrell, Appia’s sales and marketing manager. “Appia is a big fan of supporting Burnaby’s business community.”
